Every Friday we raise a glass to celebrate some of the best new boozy bottles to hit store shelves. This week we’re swapping our city view of cluttered skyscrapers for the rolling expanse of the Nevada desert—but before we converge in Las Vegas for the 2016 AIGA Design Conference to shape the future of design, let’s raise a glass of liquid inspiration and geek out with futuristic atomic brews and darknet whisky.
SuperGiant, by Lauren Basser
Though we love us a classic oak barrel and old-school flair, it’s refreshing to see whisky boldly step into the digital age. Instead of wood-topped corks, polished glasses, and subtle “heritage” designs flourishes, this AGDA award winner decks itself with new-age details like contemporary type and an abstract pattern that’s like a dreamy haze of code.
Isotope, by Thirst
The brainchild of Atom Beers and Doctor’s Orders Brewing, this smart design is tapping into our passion for STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, math) without dredging up any headaches from high school chemistry class.
Kabuki, by SeriesNemo
Named after a discipline of Japanese performance theater, this liquor certainly doesn’t lack for drama. The razor sharp edges, combined with the ultra-polished finish is luxury to a tee. Plus, after seeing these artfully crafted bottle toppers, cylindrical corks might be too blasé for us now.
