Every Friday we raise a glass to celebrate some of the best new boozy bottles to hit store shelves. This week we’re feeling overwhelmed by our holiday shopping list (and checking it twice), so we’ve compiled a list of handy “life hack” packaging design to simplify the weekend, from wines that prevent spills to bottles guaranteed to keep dinner guests off their smartphones.

Drunk by Midday, by Midday
Though it sounds like the product of a cheesy infomercial (Finally! A solution to keep wayward wine bottles from rolling off the kitchen countertop!), this packaging is anything but predictable. The chic label hits everything on our design dream list: clean forms, a punch of color, and even practical application.

DEVOUT Champagne, by Jessica Sjöstedt and Jasper van Wolferen
Drinking out of a paper bag never looked so socially acceptable. This edgy champagne combines bright hues and smart packaging in one ingenious, portable bag. Pack this geometric alternative in a picnic come springtime, or as a stocking stuffer this week.

Pull&Enjoy, by Martin Sombathy
Though the name is a bit clunky, the silhouette of this thin-necked bottle and the ergonomic opener/cap impressed us with its swan-like elegance. The two-in-one corkscrew and wine ensemble is a brill life hack we hope the trend catches on—to say nothing of how well the minimalist screen-printing balances the top-heavy bottle with simple, pretty gradients.

Mulling Over 2015, by Buddy
Your favorite ugly Christmas sweater meets emojis in this clever label. We love the muted tones that counter the busy label with a classic color scheme, with a bit of festive shine. Plus, it’ll be a hit with the whole family—from your emoji-obsessed niece to your grandparents who can seriously rock a cozy Nordic pattern.
