In February, Eye on Design founder Perrin Drumm ventured from New York to Austin, Texas to be the designer in residence at UT Austin’s School of Design + Creative Technologies. While she was there, she co-ran the publication studio class along with UT’s own James Walker, where they led students in editing, designing, and producing a zine. The subject? They went with the thing that was looming large in everyone’s mind: life after graduation.
Now that college graduations are just behind us, we thought we’d share this zine with the world, and especially with other recent grads. What They Don’t Teach You in Design School: A Survival Guide to Life After Graduation is full of tips, tools, and sage advice from experts like Zipeng Zhu, Wael Morcos, Meg Lewis, Julian Glander, Karin Fong, and Bijan Berahimi. Written, designed, and produced by design students (with some editorial guidance from the Eye on Design team), the zine will be your go-to guide for things like nailing your next job interview, deciding whether to do an internship, and figuring what kind of company you might like to work for (or if you should just chuck it and go freelance).
The zine is available for free on our webshop (you just need to pay for shipping), so grab yourself a copy. Don’t sleep on this!
