Where Designers Work is an ongoing series that meets designers in their studios to see how they create a space that lets them do their best work. We’ve visited a wide range of studios in Berlin, London, and all over the U.S. to speak with designers at small, two-person outfits to some of the biggest agencies and design offices in the world. And if we’ve learned anything so far it’s that there’s no one-size-fits-all approach.

Leta Sobierajski’s ambitious creative practice has intrigued us long before we hired her to design this very website. A self-described “total control freak,” whatever Sobierajski didn’t learn in design school she’s taught herself in order to create work that would normally require a whole team. It’s why she often appears as the model in her colorful photo shoots, and why her portfolio includes such a broad range of projects for a designer so young—she doesn’t turn down exciting work even if she doesn’t quite know how she’ll do it. Now the unstoppable one-woman show has moved into a proper studio space, and is adding some design partners to the mix.
